Ok, I've confirmed rackspace cloud does not block ports. I've narrowed it down to this issue. When I do this: netstat -anp | grep 60006 I see this: tcp 0 0 ::ffff:127.0.0.1:60006 :::* LISTEN 3580/java That tells me that the license server listening only for connections from LOCALHOST. What is going ...

BTW running nsmap on my license server's IP it shows: PORT STATE SERVICE 60006/udp closed unknown but then again when I run it on 8080 (which works) it shows: PORT STATE SERVICE 8080/udp filtered unknown So it leads me to believe there is some CentOS firewall issue deep deep down somewhere lokkit is...

Can't for the life of me get the license server to run
Has anyone successfully set up the license server on a Rackspace CentOS slice communicating with an EC2 instance? I've tried for 2 days with no dice. On my Debian Etch EC2 instance, I blew open port 60006 in the Amazon security group. I double checked from inside the instance and that port is availa...

So I got it running on CentOS but for the life of me I can't blow open the port 6006 on CentOS. It's listening, and I configured lokkit/iptables to open 60006 but my EC2 instance can't connect to it. I've added 60006 to my EC2 security group to no avail. (I thought I had this working earlier but I w...

Smartfox has nothing to do with FB. Your FB code is all in the client/web server -- in my case all the FB code is php or using FBJS to call out to the Facebook API from my Flash client. The only thing SFS-specific I had to do was modify the login plugins to take facebook IDs instead of usernames. (W...

Can't get license server to run on Debian Lenny
So I'm trying to run the license server on a Debian Lenny rackspace cloud VPS account. When I try to run it, I get this error: ./sfsls: line 475: /usr/SFS/sfsls-linux-x86-32/wrapper: No such file or directory Do I have to install any other stuff before trying to run the license server? This is a fre...

Oh wow, shockingly rackspace has some cheap cloud packages--what do you think his the bare minimum spec I'd need to run just the license server?
http://www.rackspacecloud.com/cloud_hos ... rs/pricing
Think I can get away with 256 megs / 10 gig of disk space for the LS?

Which one of these VPS packages do you think I could get away with running the license server on? If it's truly lightweight, could I perhaps even get by with a link-1 or link-2 service? I think using a cheap VPS is my only option at this point.
