The announcement I read via that link says the private beta (preview) will be at the end of July 2010. The product will then be available to all paying customers.

I hope this helps!

Will testers be allowed to discuss features and such in the public forum? For instance, I will not be able to purchase the 1.x version since my needs (??) are met with the 2.x version.

Nono, in the SSL thread before, you mentioned that SSL will be in the next major version, which happens to be X2. I was asking if you were still going to do that or drop it all together. Anyway, I would assume it would be a feature that can be enabled or disabled if you are still following through ;)

Ok, I was just wondering if it was on track or gonna mix x2 :) I mean, it would be just another feature to get more users (contractors :)), entirely optional?

Aah, for game wise, the only reason i can think of is anti-theft of protocol. Some companies are fiercely protective of their user's information and don't want any illegal clients connecting to their servers.

Federal Contracts and some State Contracts require SSL for any communications between two end points. SSL is also required any kind of monetary transaction :) Besides the above ... :) I understand that SSL is still suspectible MitM attacks but besides that, secure (as in nobody can ease drop easily)...

Hello, I noticed that the SSL support in x2 is not listed on the linked page. Is it still in that version? I found out that Adobe AIR 2.0 supports SSL now finally, so I'll have to wait until X2 comes out before I buy any licenses (if SSL is still in it).

Thanks for the reply :)

How to tell server to actually use custom login?

Even with customLogin set to true, I still need a way to tell the server which java extension to run. The one and only extension is listed in the config, but I still need to tell the server to use that extension for login. Right now, the server just ignores the extension when logging in. It does loa...

Please update Java Cookbook (custom login)

Ref: http://www.smartfoxserver.com/docs/docP ... _Login.htm

The code is broken @

// Attempt to login the user in the system
newUser = helper.canLogin(nick, pass, chan, currentZone);

canLogin does not accept those parameters.

Ok, no problem running on windows 2008 64bit.

Any way to run on a local windows 7 64bit OS? The start.bat gives some weird cryptic address/ip error.
