Hi
I have the latest Amazon Fire (not the one released yesterday, the latest up to yesterday... generation 7 is it?) and run my game using Unity 5.4 and latest smartfox client dlls.
Well, Smartfox seems to work fine in all devices except Amazon Fire. The problem happens only when you disconnect or lose connection.
A simple Smartfox.Disconnect() or just getting disconnected for whatever reason, makes the app crash.
This is annoying as hell because when a game is over they usually disconnect and connect to a new game. Or if their connection on 3g is bad and they get disconnected... anything that does a smartfox disconnect, will crash the app and bring it to home screen.
Any ideas?
Crashes on Amazon Kindle
Re: Crashes on Amazon Kindle
Hi,
unfortunately no. I remember Unity had a similar issue with the WebPlayer years ago where a disconnection would crash only certain browsers. It had mainly to do with low-level Unity API. Maybe it's not even Unity's fault this time but something in the Mono runtime which they distribute. It's very difficult to say without further details.
We have tested the API under Android and no such problem has ever appeared. With this said, can you show us the full stack trace of the error? It may still suggest where the problem is happening.
thanks

Re: Crashes on Amazon Kindle
that's the funny thing, there is no stacktrace, nothing... not even on debug mode. It just kills the app and you get a WIN_DEATH message on the logcat, with no other info whatsoever.
Do you guys have a kindle fire at hand?
