Is there an example project that uses Flash CS5 only and not Flex/Flash Builder 3? Flash CS5 can't open .mxml files.
No, there isn't.
The reason is that Flash Builder is faster to create user interfaces, allowing us to concentrate on the example's core code. From the SFS point of view, the API usage is always the same, so by studying the code you should be able to create the similar applications in Flash too.
