A patch was release (SFS PRO 1.6.8) which includes updated API that fixed a possible issue with the BBox communication.
Are you already using it?

You are right! I use 1.6.6 (server) 1.5.8 (client). My big mistake. I will update both. Thank you!

I updated client's api to last version and bought bluebox to be at full version and i still have problems with blue box, after some time (20-40 minutes) it can send data normally but can not receive nothing from server. Is there any known issue or ideas how to stop it? all bluebox users are stucked after some time.

Are you sure it's not a timeout problem? Maybe users timeout because they are inactive. Also you can check the current connections that are using the BlueBox via the AdminTool.

Also if you enabled the BlueBox debug you can monitor the BBox users from the browser by pointing this url: http://your-sfs-address:8080/BlueBox/Ht ... ugCmd=main

Finally can you please confirm that the getVersion() method of the SmartFoxClient class you are using returns at least 1.6.1?

It returns 1.6.1 (is this right? i think that applied 1.6.8 patch files), also it is not a timeout problem as user can normally type in chat messages (and all others saw them) but can not receive anything. User is online in the zone and room as i checked in admin tool (and in bluebox connections)!!! it happens after an amount of time 20-40 minutes, before it everything works perfect.

Also user is connected at two zones from bluebox at the same sfs/bluebox dont know if it has to say something.

I should check from bluebox debug that you suggested to collect more information. Anything else that could make user to do not get bug only send?

as i see from the debug url, there are both sessions in debug as expected from the client but they have a lot of queued packets stucked and increase all the time. (they worked perfect for 15 minutes, after 15 minutes problem occured at both zones)

in both zones user client can send data in chat or extension messages but can not get nothing.

the problem occurs at the same time in both zones from same client

Thanks, let me ask some more questions:
Does this problem happen systematically to all clients? Or it is just random?
When you monitored the 2 users with problems how many clients were connected?
Can you reproduce the problem locally?

Finally you said the client can send requests to the server but it doesn't seem to be able to receive any data. How did you verify this? Are you really sure that client requests are getting to the server?

Thanks

All clients will face the problem at some random time, maybe at first 5 minutes or at 30-40. Noone can play from bluebox for hours.

30 clients at bluebox, 1300 at smartfox.

I can reproduce problem online very easily, just enter at chat zone and one game and wait a little hour. Even if i will not be idle but speaking at chat zone and creating rooms at game zone and playing movements...some time will freeze both connections concurrently and will not be able to receive any data. I will try it local and i will inform you.

I type in chat zone "hello" and i can see it from other client normally!!! But my queue in bluebox debug increases forever!

Thanks.
Please send us an email with the URL of your application and an account we can use for testing. We'll give it a try as soon as possible.

Same problem for me

Postby copet80 » 28 Apr 2010, 01:01

Hi Lapo, Dod,

I'm facing the same problem with our applications. Mine specifically happens on joining a room. The onJoinRoom event never gets called. When I inspected the debug, the joinRoom was sent but joinOk was never received. I think it may be related to the problem Dod mentioned.

Have you guys worked out a solution by any chance?

Thanks!

Actually the Dod problem was inspected closely and it happens only for a few clients which probably have connection problems beyond the proxy thing.

The BlueBox helps all clients under restricted network conditions but cannot perform miracles when their connection is super sloppy, intermittent or otherwise impaired.

Back to your problem can you provide a way to recreate the issue?
Also which versions of SmartFoxServer and BlueBox are you using?
Thanks
