red5 fails to launch: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Files

Postby phil.harlow » 07 Jul 2009, 00:46

Hi guys,

I had red5 working fine on my sfs install for about 2 weeks, then something changed and I got this message when trying to run the server:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Files
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Files
at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200)
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307)
at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320)
Could not find the main class: Files. Program will exit.
Press any key to continue . . .

I couldnt fix it reinstalling, adding sfs/server/bin to the PATH, or rebooting over and over, so I erased vista and tried again with a clean install of vista. SFS and red5 worked fine for about a week, but now I'm getting the exact same error again but I'm not going to reinstall vista (yuck)
The only thing I *think* I changed from when it worked to when it stopped was installing iTunes. But even installing sfs again after itunes I get the same error. I'm on a dual core 64-bit machine running vista ultimate-64.

Does anyone have any guesses or at least a place I can start looking? I see no logs or anything.

Thanks!!!!

Ran into the same issue.
You can find the details here.
RedBox: .NoClassDefFoundError - {SOLVED}

It seems to be very common with any Red5 install.

Thank you! I don't know how I didnt find that in my searches. Oh well, thanks! Adding quotes didn't help but removing classpath did!

Return to “RedBox”
