Inserting keyframes into recorded clips

Hi there,

We're using AVClipManager to capture clips from webcam and save them to the server with RedBox. We're then shifting them out and publishing them with a bash script.

Is there a way to insert (more frequent) keyframes into the recorded clips? Ideally we want a keyframe every 10 frames to enable fine-grained scrubbing.

Not that I know of
Unless there's some specific Red5/FMS server side feature for this I think the only way is to hack the file format, which is probably not very simple.

Thanks for your reply. I figured it might be a tough ask.

Is it possible, rather than have Redbox store an encoded .flv file, have it store some kind of raw format? .mov file for example?

That way we can do the encoding ourselves..

I don't think so. Adobe works with its proprietary protocol, for obvious reasons. It is likely that you can convert the FLV to something else (mov, avi) but you will need an external tool and I don't think that this can be done on a live server, concurrently for many hundred users...
