one to many streaming

We are just looking at smartfox and redbox as a means of streaming a webcam feed to many subscribers.

We have a machine running red5 but have a question.

Do we need to have a flash program running on this machine or can subscribers simply request the webcam feed?

Many thanks

No, you don't need a "Flash program" running on the server

Just to clarify, do we need a flash program to publish the current feed from the webcam, or can you simply plug a webcam into the red5 server and that is all that is needed?

I am not the best person to answer this, Bax can probably explain this much better than me. At any rate you should check the SmartVideoConference example provided with the RedBox. There is no need for a webcam to be present on your server.

Also check the documentation here:
http://www.smartfoxserver.com/docs/docP ... nager.html

it should clear most doubts.
