UDP Support for iPhone?

Postby leftygames » 04 Nov 2011, 01:58

Nice product, it works well and seems straight forward, but for a real-time game I am developing I will need UDP and it doesn't seem that iPhone Client supports it yet.

Am I missing something? If so can you point me at the right docs/etc?

Thanks, Jeff

No UDP is not supported yet, together with the BlueBox (http tunnelling).
We are adding them as part of the next update cycle.

UDP and BBox are already supported by the iOS-Unity API, if you're interested.

What is the target date of the update which includes UDP? I want to be sure to test it right away. I have been testing network performance. Seems really good, but i think UDP will push it over the edge for me.

I'm also curious for this release date. Will this be in a month/6 months/year?

As soon as possible. We are currently restructuring the iOS development resources in order to provide a higher quality API and we look forward to releasing a new API update in a couple of months, maybe with early pre-releases.
