Postby KryptKnight » 08 Apr 2005, 21:09

I was wondering if anyone knows how to create users for the custom login example.

What do you mean exactly? Is there something not clear in the "custom login" tutorial?

I wanted to know if there was a way to add usernames and passwords in Flash instead of editing the sfsLogin.php file. Like having a registration page.

Yeah, curtis is right.

The purpose of the "customLogin" article is to show how to integrate SmartFoxServer Basic into an existing server side system. In this particular example we used PHP and for the sake of simplicity we didn't use any database, just a simple array containing user data.

In a real world application you would obviously need a database or at least an XML file. MySQL is surely one of the best databases around for PHP.

If you need to learn how to integrate PHP with MySQL you can find tons of tutorials on the web. Check these articles, for example:

http://www.devpapers.com/article/36
http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/pr ... rial4.html
http://perl.about.com/od/phpandmysql/

Hope it helps :)
