Project developed using the trial OS1

Postby fabianres@live.com.mx » 06 Feb 2011, 01:17

Hi guys,

I have the following question, we developed a project using OS1 the trial version, so we could have an idea into what we were getting into. We created 15 maps for our game, which were a pain in the butt to integrate.

Those map .xml´s are all set, and we are now going to buy the OS1 licence to get rid of the openspace watermark (no hard feelings :P) and to be able to broadcast the avatars´ skin changes so others could see them.

Here´s my question and our great fear. Once we buy the licence, will we have to redo the 15 maps all over again :S, using the os1 licenced software (please say no :P), or could we just grab the existing map .xml code and just copy/paste it to new .xml exports of the maps.

Please, I hope we don´t have to redo the 15 maps all over again.

Thanks

No need to recreate your maps.

So what now?

So how exactly would I proceed without having to recreate the maps?

I now only have the map .xmls, not the editor project itself anymore, because it somehow became corrupt when I first published the map and I was unable to open it again in the OpenSpace trial editor.

Please this is very important.

Without the project file it is impossible to edit maps, but you can still use them.

Okay I found the .osps for every single map, this project has been going on for quite some time and I forgot that I did store them.

Yet, when I want to open them from the editor, it won´t start them.

What´s going on?

What do you mean that I can use them?

Care to explain?

It wont load the .osp files even if the skin and background .swfs are there.

What if I publish a basic .xml with the licenced openspace editor and then I manually fill in the code from the previous .xmls from the open space trials, will that work?

Im making a few tests, even publishing new maps with the licenced editor.

Yet I am still getting the "POWERED BY OPENSPACE" on the top right corner.

Wasn´t this supposed to be removed with the licenced version?

You have to update the server-side extension too.
