OpenSpace 2.0.4 released

Postby Bax » 11 Jul 2011, 08:29

We just released version 2.0.4 of OpenSpace.
This SmartFoxServer 2X version of OpenSpace is now compiled against the latest SFS2X API distributed with the RC3 release, which caused a library conflict with the previous version. We also fixed some minor bugs and dramatically improved the parsing time of larger maps (data parsing of a 100x100 tiles map is now reduced of 98%).

Release notes

New features
- IOpenSpace.version property now returns the OpenSpace Extension version too.

Fixed bugs
- Very slow parsing of large maps.
- When server-side sendAvatarToMap method was used, starting from the second map loaded the user couldn't make the avatar move anymore.
- When joining a non-OpenSpace room and then an OpenSpace room, the OpenSpace server-side extension threw an error.

Other
- SmartFoxServer 2X versions of Flex/Flash OpenSpace components updated to latest SFS2X API (RC3).
- Further improvement to avoid avatar stepping on the wrong tile in case of frantic mouse clicking (see bug fixed in version 2.0.3).

Known issues
- In Flash Builder 4, when the Flex SDK 4 or later is used, the following warning might be displayed when entring Design mode: "Design mode could not load OpenSpace_Flex.swc. It may be incompatible with this SDK, or invalid. (DesignAssetLoader.CompleteTimeout)". This is a bug in Flash Builder that affects most swc files of other popular projects. Even if the OpenSpace component is not visible in design view, this does not affect the compilation or the project in any way.

I always liked the way Smartfoxserver performed its work with an unmatched level of features and customizations. New OpenSpace is no exception. Great work done.
