and activated it under the Words Filter tab.

Did you restart SFS2X after the change?
Cheers
Re: word filter not working
Yes restarted
Re: word filter not working
When you say that it doesn't seem to work, can you be more specific?
What test have you done and what is the outcome?
Have you checked the server side logs for related errors?
Thanks

Re: word filter not working
I have activate the word filter and added some words in the text file.
When I write the bad words they still appear and a not displayed as *, I do not get any warnings and do not get kicked out.
Not sure how to check the logs.

Re: word filter not working
Not sure how to check the logs.
The log files are found under SFS2X/logs/
Also under both Windows and macOS you can run the server in the terminal directly and see the logs live, as you interact with the server.
The settings look good. I have copied the words you have posted and created a new local file to use for the Words Filter, activated it using the same settings and tried to login as username "password".
It correctly sends back a LOGIN_ERROR to the client
Code: Select all
Login ERRROR: User name password contains bad words; filtered: ********
Does this at least work for you?
Thanks
p.s. = tested using a vanilla SFS2X 2.18
