The release provides a revamped server engine’s UDP pipeline to improve scalability for very high packet rates. If you’re running a real-time game based on UDP for thousands of players, we highly recommend this update.

SmartFoxServer 2.15.0 provides several improvements for scaling the UDP protocol to uber-high packet rates, which can be useful for real-time games with massive traffic that use very fast updates (e.g. 30 or 50 packet/s).
Continue readingWe have just released version 1.7.11 of the iOS/tvOS/macOS client API which addresses the MMORoom issue we’ve solved several days ago (see previous news entry) and fixes a memory leak problem that was recently reported.

We have released new API updates that fix an edge case with MMORooms. If your game joins players in both regular and MMO Rooms at the same time, we recommend upgrading to the latest release.
Also in the Java/Android API we have fixed a connectivity issue with the BlueBox and SmartFoxServer 2X 2.14.

SmartFoxServer 2X 2.14 is out with new features, bug fixes and a focus on improved performance for all HTTP related services. Especially the BlueBox and Websocket where you can expect a performance boost in the range of 60-100%.
Additionally we are launching the beta version of the new HTML5 AdminTool which will soon replace the old Flash-based version.
With the progressive retirement of the Flash platform we started researching how to port our SmartFoxServer 2X Admin Tool to the HTML5 environment. This has led to a significant investment of time as many of the frameworks and tools available for Flash development did not have an equivalent in the browser world. Another major time sink was rethinking a significant portion of our workflow and finding good replacements for visual components that would render correctly on devices of all sizes.
With the launch of SmartFoxServer 2X 2.14 we’re happy to announce the beta phase of the new HTML 5 AdminTool, which will replace the existing Flash-based one during 2020. Continue reading
The launch of SmartFoxServer 2.14 is particularly significant for all the web-related services, in particular Websockets and BlueBox. This was an area where we were still looking for performance improvements but we were mostly dependent on the underlying dependency used for this service, namely Jetty.
